Booster doses vaccination started in Lalitpur

KATHMANDU: JAN. 16 – Booster dose vaccination against COVID-19 has begun in Lalitpur for health workers, security personnel, journalists, and front-line personnel. Satish Bista, Chief of the District Health Office, Lalitpur, informed Makalu Khabar on Sunday that the booster dosage has begun at Patan Hospital in Lalitpur.

Bista stated that the vaccination was started in accordance with the ministry’s instructions. Lalitpur’s municipal governments are all prepared to provide booster dosage vaccines. Though it was said that vaccination would be started from Sunday in three districts of Kathmandu Valley, vaccination could not be started from Sunday in Kathmandu and Bhaktapur. The technical work, including vaccination, could not begin on Sunday, according to the District Health Offices in Kathmandu and Bhaktapur.

According to the district office, the booster dosage will begin only on Monday in Kathmandu. Despite the ministry’s directive to begin vaccinations on Sunday, the technical preparations have not been completed, according to the ministry.

According to the Bhaktapur Health Office, there is still work to be done, including the delivery of vaccines. Earlier, from Magh 2 (Jan 16) Sunday, the government has planned to provide booster dosage vaccination in various places around the Kathmandu valley.
