Casino operator, fleeing to US, stopped from TU airport
KATHMANDU: JAN. 16 – Mike Bolsover, a casino operator who is fleeing to the United States without paying royalties, had made a stop at Tribhuvan Airport. The casino operators Bolsover, who operates in Kathmandu’s Shangrila Hotel, and Butwal’s Tiger Tops, who’d been fleeing without paying the government more than Rs 130 million in royalties, was stopped at Tribhuvan Airport.
The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation had barred Bolshover, the acting chief executive officer of SHL Management, from leaving Nepal. Under the directive of Tourism Minister Prem Bahadur Ale, the government has barred him from immigration. According to Maheshwar Neupane, Secretary at the Ministry of Tourism, he informed the Immigration Office and stopped him from departing Nepal in accordance with the Minister’s directive.
He informed that the Department of Tourism has decided not to allow him to leave Nepal until he pays the royalty and renewal fee for operating the casino. Mike represents the casino operator at Shangrila Hotel in Kathmandu and Tiger Tops in Butwal. Mike has run Tiger Palace Resort on 23 katthas of government land in Tilottama of Rupandehi Municipality-6.
