PM Cup: Karnali’s first win
KATHMANDU: JAN. 11 – In the PM Cup T-20 National Men’s Cricket Tournament, Karnali State defeated State 1 by 31 runs. Following the winning target of 121 runs in Mulpani on Tuesday, Karnali got its first victory after being reduced to 89 runs.
Karnali set a target of 121 runs after losing the toss and the State 1 was all out for 89 runs in 17.5 overs. Firdosh Ansari of State 1 led the way with 23 runs.
Dipesh Kandel and Shrawan Yadav scored 15 runs each and captain Siddhanta Lohani scored 14 runs. Karnali’s Anuj Chunara took 4 wickets to wrap up State 1 cheaply. Similarly, Diwan Pun took 2 wickets and Dinesh Adhikari, Prakash Jaishi and Anup Kunwar took 1 wicket each.
Earlier, after losing the toss, Karnali scored 120 runs while losing seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Prakash Jaishi scored 25 runs while Rabindra Shahi scored 36 runs.
Mukunda Yadav got three wickets, Firdosh Ansari two, and Kamal Khatri and Siddhant Lohani took 1 wicket each.
