KATHMANDU: JAN. 10 – Former Prime Minister and respected leader of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Socialist) Jhala Nath Khanal has stated that he and his party have drawn attention to the Lipulekh-Mansarovar road section being built by India. “The construction of this road is a gross violation of Nepal’s geographical integrity and national sovereignty,” Khanal said in a statement issued on Monday.

What did Modi said?

Leader Khanal has termed the speech of Indian Prime Minister Modi as ‘provocative’. “Our party strongly condemns the construction of roads in violation of the integrity of our territory and the inflammatory rhetoric of Indian leaders,” Khanal said in a statement.

Prime Minister Modi had previously stated that the road was being constructed. Nepal has previously voiced its opposition to this road. However, the Indian government has not halted construction.
