Financial support from students of Central Department of Journalism and Mass Communication

KATHMANDU: JAN. 10 – Students studying at the postgraduate level of the Central Department of Journalism and Mass Communication have provided financial assistance to senior citizens. Students of Tribhuvan University Central Department of Mass Communication and Journalism Ratna Rajyalaxmi Campus postgraduate level third semester have provided financial assistance to Sahara Senior Citizens Society.

To help the elderly in the Sahara Senior Citizens’ Society at Khopasi, 10, Panauti Municipality, Kavre, students have provided financial support of Rs 17,000.

Established in the year 2070 BS, the organization has senior citizens above 60 years of age. According to the Sahara Senior Citizens’ Society, recreational activities are performed in the society on a daily basis by composing hymns.

The students studying in the third semester and the first semester went on a picnic on Dec. 18. CR Bhandari, who represented the students, said that the money saved from the picnic was donated to Sahara Senior Civil Society. CR Bhandari, a student studying in the third semester, handed over a cheque for the same amount to Bharat Sharma, president of Sahara Senior Citizens’ Society.
