Cases of COVID-19 on rising yet again

ITAHARI: JAN. 7 – On Friday, 968 people in Nepal were confirmed to be infected with COVID-19.

Similarly, 24 new cases of Omicron variant infection have been reported in Nepal on Friday.

The RT-PCR method detected 572 of the verified cases, whereas the antigen method detected 396.

There has been no COVID-19-related fatality recorded in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. With this, the COVID-19 death toll in Nepal now stands at 11,602.

Meanwhile, 262 patients have returned home after totally recovering from COVID-19. The total number of COVID-19 recovered in Nepal to date is 813,709.

Nepal has 5,741 current COVID-19 cases and 114 serious cases.
