NRNA called a meeting of the Central Committee
KATHMANDU: JAN. 7 – The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) will have its 81st meeting next week. The meeting was called on January 15 at 2 p.m. Nepal time, according to Dr. Hemraj Sharma, General Secretary of the Association.
The upcoming tenth general convention and union elections will be discussed at the meeting. The election and the General Convention have been stalled for a long time due to the major controversy over the election of delegates to the Union General Convention.
Preparations have been made to publish the election schedule before to the Central Committee meeting. Formal and informal meetings have been held between Dr. Badri KC, Rabina Thapa and Kul Acharya for the post of chairperson. It has been alleged that an agreement on the central representative dispute has been reached within the sub-committee formed by the association’s chairperson, Kumar Panta, to settle the dispute.
