A probe committee to investigate on Narayanhiti Restaurant

KATHMANDU: JAN. 6 – A committee has been formed to investigate the disputed Narayanhiti restaurant. A committee has been formed by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation to investigate the controversial restaurant.

The probe will be carried out by a five-member committee chaired by Hom Prasad Luintel, joint secretary of the ministry’s tourist division. Joint Secretary Luintel informed that a letter from the committee formed under his leadership had been received and that the committee will submit its report within three days.

According to him, member secretary responsibilities in the committee have been assigned to Deputy Secretaries of the Ministry Tek Narayan Poudel, Suryamani Gautam, Purushottam Khatiwada, and Branch Secretary Tanka Bahadur Negi.

Earlier, it was said that Batas Company would build a restaurant in the Durbar area. It was stopped by Tourism Minister Prem Ale. Following this, he stated that there will be no restaurant inside the palace.
