KATHMANDU: JAN. 5 – The Election Commission has set a spending limit for candidates in the National Assembly elections. Candidates have already registered their nominations for the Jan 26 election.

The commission says that it can spend Rs 350,000 on several topics, including representative mobilization from the purchase of voter lists.

70,000 will be spent to use the vehicle. According to the commission, the office can be managed for Rs 70,000.

For the 19 vacant posts, 43 candidates from various parties have submitted nominations. The major competition will be between the candidates of the five ruling parties and the CPN-UML, the main opposition party.
