Booster doses vaccines from today
KATHMANDU: JAN. 4 – The government has decided to provide one additional COVID-19 vaccination. People who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and reached 3 months of vaccination will receive a dose of the same type of vaccination will receive a complete dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
This is not a booster dose, but rather an additional dose given to those with weakened immune systems. Dr. Samir Kumar Adhikari, a Joint Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, stated that additional vaccinations will begin today. “Additional vaccinations will be given to the target group, such as people with poor immunity, and everyone will receive a booster dose,” he stated.
The National Vaccination Advisory Committee suggested that some groups be given extra doses of the vaccine some days ago.
Who will get it?
- People with moderate to severe immunity
- Active cancer sufferer
- Organ transplant patients
- Patients with HIV
- Patients taking immunosuppressive drugs during treatment
- Also people aged 60 and over who have been vaccinated with Vero Cell or Sinopharm
The Ministry of Health and Population has requested that the targeted individuals from the general population approach to the nearest medical center with their vaccine card and receive an additional dose of vaccine.
