Resham Chaudhary formed new party, wife as chairperson [Photos]

KATHMANDU: JAN. 3 – Resham Chaudhary has formed a new political party. Chaudhary, a suspended lawmaker now serving a sentence in Dilli Bazar Jail, has formed the Citizens’ Liberation Party, with his wife Ranjita Shrestha as chairperson.

On Saturday, Chaudhary’s supporters went to the Election Commission, where Shrestha was offered the post of party chairperson. Supporters yelled slogans as well.

Earlier, Chaudhary, who stood for the Rastriya Janata Party, was elected with an overwhelming majority from Kailali-1. He has, however, formed a separate party, saying that the Madheswadi party was unable to address his issues after he was found guilty in the case.
