6 seats for Congress, 5 seats each for Maoists-Socialists
KATHMANDU: JAN. 3 – The ruling coalition’s parties have allocated seats for the National Assembly elections. On Monday morning, a meeting at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar decided to field candidates for the vacant seats in the National Assembly.
According to the agreement reached during the meeting, the Nepali Congress, the alliance’s largest party, would receive 6 seats, while the Maoist Center and the Unified Socialists will receive 5 seats each. Similarly, JSP will receive two seats, while Rastriya Janamorcha would receive one.
The terms of the UML and the ruling coalition members in eight of the 19 seats to be vacated are coming to an end. Candidates are registering for the next National Assembly election, which will take place on Tuesday.
