Coalition formed to finalize candidate for National Assembly member
KATHMANDU: JAN. 3 – The ruling coalition is meeting in Baluwatar at the Prime Minister’s official residence. Rastriya Janamorcha vice-chairperson Durga Poudel informed that the meeting was being held under the coordination of Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba, who is also the prime minister.
The meeting is discussing issues including the election of National Assembly members. The deadline for registering as a candidate for the National Assembly election, according to the Election Commission, is January 4.
A coalition meeting had already taken place. The meeting is attended by top leaders from the Nepali Congress, the CPN (Maoist Center), the CPN (Unified Socialist), the JSP, and the Rastriya Janamorcha.
Elections for the 19 vacant seats in the upper house of the federal parliament, the National Assembly, will be held on Jan 26.
