CK Raut activists clash with police
KATHMANDU: JAN. 2 – In a clash between the Janamat Party, led by CK Raut, and the police, some cadres were injured. A clash at Portaha Bridge on the East-West Highway in Dhanusha injured more than six Janamat Party cadres.
Police started firing during the clash. At Ganeshman Charnath Municipality-8 Portaha Bridge in Dhanusha, more than six cadres were injured when police opened fire on them while removing the cadres who had blocked the road by burning tires.
Nathu Yadav, Ram Dayal Mandal, Sanjay Sah, Bijay Yadav, and Baijnath Sah are among the injured. Baijnath was shot in the head, according to police. Despite many requests for the road to be opened, police claim they were compelled to shoot because the road was not opened.
CK Raut, on the other hand, said that the police were repressed during their peaceful protests.
The Janamat Party has intensified its election-centric activities. Particularly Madhes-centric parties have started collecting donations to win the election. The Janamat Party, which was formerly outlawed by the KP Sharma Oli-led government for separatist activities, has now been reintegrated into mainstream politics.
