Prachanda to propose names of office bearers
KATHMANDU: JAN. 2 – The meeting of the Maoist Center’s Standing Committee has begun. On the eighth day of the Eighth National General Convention, the Standing Committee meets at Pragya Pratisthan in Kamaladi.
Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, the party’s chairperson, is preparing to propose the names of the office bearers unanimously in today’s meeting. In today’s standing committee meeting, Prachanda will also give the names of aspiring central members in the Central Working Committee from the states and expatriates, according to a leader.
On Saturday, the Maoists’ Central Election Commission began the process of selecting the party’s leadership. As a result, a list of around 1750 voters has been published.
The closed session has been postponed to 1 p.m. today to allow for unanimous leadership selection. Prachanda is prepared to present the names of 299 Central Working Committee members, including 15 office bearers, who were approved by the standing committee in a closed session.
