Kirantis celebrated Udhauli at Tundhikhel [Photos]

KATHMANDU: JAN. 1 – Shakeela Udhauli has been celebrated by the Kirant people. On Saturday, nature worshipers celebrated Udhauli with a formal program in Tundikhel in Kathmandu. Chief Minister of State 1 Rajendra Prasad Rai inaugurated the program.

Tundikhel has been buzzing with excitement since this morning. Kirant community young men and women dance in traditional costumes.

The Kirant community, which is predominant in the eastern region of Nepal, has been celebrating the Udhauli festival every year in the federal capital Kathmandu.

Shakeela is celebrated by the Kirants twice a year, on Udhauli and Ubhauli.
