Avalanche in Gurja, 1 missing

POKHARA: DEC. 30 – A person has gone missing as a result of an avalanche in Gurja, Myagdi district. Three persons have been stranded in Gurja, Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality -1.

Ram Bahadur Chhantyal, 50, living in Bhedigoth, has gone missing after a landslide caused by heavy snowfall, according to police.

Lal Bahadur BK, Jagmaya Chhantyal, and Buddhi Chhantyal are stranded in the snow. According to Resham Chhantyal, vice-chairperson of the rural municipality, a helicopter was dispatched to search for the missing and rescue the stranded.
