Ban on public events in Mumbai due to increase in coronavirus

MUMBAI: DEC. 30 – Outbreaks of coronavirus have been on the rise in Mumbai recently. New Delhi and Mumbai in India have seen an increase in infections in recent weeks.

The Mumbai government has said that programs in public places have been banned due to the increase in coronavirus infections.

The government has banned gatherings and New Year’s celebrations in public places in Mumbai, India’s financial capital, as New Year’s celebrations are held and fears of further transition.

The Mumbai government has said that no curfew will be imposed at night but gatherings and ceremonies will be banned.

Last week alone, at least 150 people were found to be infected here every day, while at least 2,000 have been found infected in a few days.
