Weather to improve from today, cold to increase
KATHMANDU: DEC. 30 – Most of the country is now experiencing rain, with light snowfall continuing in the upper hills and mountains. Rain and snow have fallen as a result of the western low-pressure system’s impact.
The cold has increased over the country as well. At 6 a.m. this morning, the temperature in Kathmandu was 6.4 degrees Celsius. This afternoon, there will be light rain in certain areas of the seven states’ hilly terrain, with partial to moderate cloud cover. According to meteorologist Manju Bassi, light to moderate snowfall is possible in some areas of the high hills and mountains.
In Kathmandu, the possibility of rain is low today. There will be partial to normal cloud cover in the hilly areas of the country and partial cloud cover in the rest of the country. There is a possibility of light snowfall in a few places in the high hilly and mountainous terrain of State 1, Bagmati State and Gandaki State.
The department has urged to be vigilant to avoid cold due to the possibility of rain and snow. Currently, the country is under the influence of the western low-pressure system and the low-pressure area around Bihar in India.
The weather will improve from today
Meteorologists predict that the weather will improve starting today. The weather in the valley is expected to progressively improve and the sun to shine.
However, due to a lack of sunlight throughout the day on Wednesday, winter will be rather chilly today. As a result, health experts advise children and seniors citizen to stay indoors as much as possible, even if it is not raining.
