Development assessment team send by PM Deuba to Sudurpaschim begins work
KATHMANDU: DEC. 29 – Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba have sent a team headed by National Planning Commission (NPC) Vice-Chair Dr Bishwa Poudel to the Sudurpashim State for preparing a draft of a greater development project for the State.
The squad also comprising party central member Nain Singh Mahar reached Dhangadhi on Tuesday. As Mahar Said, the team will visit all districts in the Sudurpaschim to identify the real needs of the area. The team has planned interaction programmes to discuss the potential development issues in the region and take public submission. It has invited people’s representatives of all local levels and party leaders to participate the programmes.
The team is to keep the upcoming election in mind while recommending the development plans. It has been asked to also incorporate plans capable for creating jobs for the Sudurpaschim State that comprises nine districts.
At an interaction programme held in Dhangadhi today, Dhangadhi sub metropolis mayor and party central member Nirp Bahadur Odd, deputy mayor and party central member Sushila Mishra Bhatta, NPC member Dr Pushpa Raman Wagle, Youth Self Employment Fund executive director Bishwa Mohan Adhikari, NC Sudurpaschim State general secretary Narnarayan Shah, Kailali constituency 5 president Bhim Poudel were among those putting their views on the programme.
The government has planned to send a team to all States in the country for the formulation of a greater development plan in the respective region, it is said.
