Snowfall in State 1 affects normal life
BIRATNAGAR: DEC. 29 – Snow has fallen in the Himalayan highlands and hilly districts of State 1. Snowfall began two days ago in the areas of Taplejung and Panchthar.
Snow has fallen in the high hilly areas of Yangwarak and Phalelung Rural Municipalities of Panchthar district. High mountainous areas including Timbupokhari, Pahademegu, Phaleke, Major, Chiwa Bhanjyang, Lampokhari, Torifule, Falot, Tin Simana, Char Rate are covered with snow.
Snow has fallen in the highlands of Taplejung including Olangchungola, Ghunsa, Yangma, Lelep, Gwabla, Tokpegola and Phale. Snow has fallen in the TMJ area in Tehrathum, Taplejung and Sankhuwasabha areas. Snow has also fallen in Terhathum’s Tinjure Milke Jaljale (TMJ) area.
Snow has fallen in the TMJ area, particularly in Terhathum, Taplejung, and Sankhuwasabha. The snowfall has had an impact on people’s life. Snow has fallen in Tinjure, Chauki, and Gufa Pokhari, according to locals. More than a foot of snow has fallen in the TMJ area.
According to the locals, there is a problem with cattle, goats, sheep and mountain goats that are being taken for grazing. According to Shukra Rai of Laligurans Municipality-1, the number of people traveling to play snow from Biratnagar, Itahari, and Dharan is high due to the snowfall.
