Rain in valley, snow in highlands
KATHMANDU: DEC. 29 – It is now raining in most regions, including the Kathmandu Valley. Snow is falling in high hills and mountainous areas, according to the Meteorological Department.
Light rain has been falling in the valley since last night, according to meteorologist Barun Poudel. Snow is forecast in the hills near Kathmandu as temperatures drop due to the weather change. “Light snowfall is possible in the hills surrounding Kathmandu Valley, particularly Chandragiri and Nagarkot,” he added. “Since last night, there has been no snowfall.”
According to meteorologist Poudel, after the system leaves Nepal, thick fog may appear in some parts of the Terai. ‘In winter, seven or eight systems come from the western region. Currently, a fourth of them is affected. This process has to be taken regularly, ‘said Poudel.
As this system will be stopped from Thursday, it is forecast that the sun will gradually start shining and the weather will improve.
