KATHMANDU: DEC. 28 – Pfizer’s vaccination program for children aged 12 to 17 in Nepal has been postponed owing to a lack of syringes. The vaccination program has been halted indefinitely owing to a lack of syringes, according to the Ministry of Health.

Following the arrival of the syringes on Friday, the government was preparing to vaccinate eight districts, including the Kathmandu Valley. The vaccination campaigns for Vero Cell, AstraZeneca, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson will continue, according to Sagar Dahal, coordinator of the National Vaccine Program. Pfizer vaccination requires a 0.3 mL syringe.

Nepal had received 664,560 doses of Pfizer vaccine on Friday through the COVAX plant. The syringe does not come along with the vaccine, which is a concern.
