Nepal Police proposes establishing police units in nations where Nepalis live
KATHMANDU: DEC. 27 – Nepal Police has proposed to have police units in countries where there are many Nepalis for employment and study.
According to Police Spokesperson SSP Basanta Bahadur Kunwar, the Police Headquarters has proposed to the Home Ministry to have a police unit headed by a Senior Superintendent of Police in the offices of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, China, Bangladesh, UAE and UN Permanent Representative.
He also stated that if this provision is implemented, it will be easier to communicate information on criminal investigations and crimes. Police believe that this will assist minimize the number of hidden crimes committed abroad.
It is believed that if police units could be set up in these countries, it would be easier to bring criminals involved in crime to Nepal.
Nepal Police currently has a companion exclusively in India.
