Leaders of various political parties not present during the General Convention
KATHMANDU: DEC. 26 – The 8th National General Convention of the CPN-Maoist has started in Kathmandu. The General Convention was started on the occasion of Mao Zedong Day on Sunday.
Chairperson of the UCPN (M) Central Committee Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda inaugurated the convention by lighting a lantern.
Leaders of various parties attended the inauguration ceremony for best wishes. However, despite being the founders of the Maoists, the leaders of various parties are not present in the General Convention. Apart from CP Gajurel, other leaders were not present in the open session.
Leaders like Mohan Baidya, Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, Biplav, Gopal Kiranti, Bishwa Bhakta Dulal ‘Aahuti’ and others were not present. The Maoist center has stated that they have been invited.
