Alliance will last till election: Minister Khatiwada
KATHMANDU: DEC. 26 – Birodh Khatiwada, Minister for Health and Population, has stated that a coalition government has been formed to save the troubled democracy.
Speaking at a youth gathering at the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Socialist), Minister Khatiwada stated that the alliance will be maintained till the next general election since the referendum obtained from the updated election would strengthen democracy.
He said that the government, which had a two-thirds majority, was now obstructing the parliament to cover up the repeated dissolution of the House of Representatives by the then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
He said that the UML, which is supposed to formulate the policy, has been taking advantage of the situation by creating a stalemate in the parliament. A 51-member ward committee has been formed under the leadership of Shyam Giri.
