Sant Bahadur appointed as first minister from Chepang community

HETAUDA: DEC. 25 – Sant Bahadur Chepang, a member of the endangered Chepang community, has become a minister for the first time. In the enlargement of the Council of Ministers convened in Bagmati on Friday, he was appointed Minister of State for Physical Infrastructure.

Sant Bahadur, a member of the Nepali Congress proportional party, was elected to the State Assembly from Raksirang Village Municipality-7, Dhirang, Makwanpur.

Minister of State Chepang has taken an oath of office and secrecy and also restored the post.

After being appointed Minister of State, he said that he would take initiative to control child marriage in the Chepang community.
