Krishna Yadav won the post of State-2 President of NC
KATHMANDU: DEC. 24 – Krishna Yadav of the Establishment (Deuba) faction has won the post of State-2 President of the Nepali Congress. Yadav of Rautahat has been elected as the state president by a margin of 141 votes.
According to the results of the public polls this morning, Yadav got 996 votes. His nearest rival Ram Saroj Yadav got 855 votes. Ram Saroj is the candidate from the Bimalendra Nidhi faction and he was also supported by Shekhar Koirala’s group.
According to the Election Committee, a total of 1881 votes were cast in the polls that ended on Thursday night. Out of 1,938 voters, 1,881 votes were cast. 28 votes have been invalidated. The results are yet to be formally announced.
The convention of State-2 under the 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress was stopped due to internal disputes and voting for the leadership was held only on Thursday.
