Sudurpashchim reached semi-finals beating State 2
KATHMANDU: DEC. 23 – The Sudurpashchim has reached the semi-finals of the Prime Minister’s Cup Women’s National Twenty20 Cricket from Group B. Sudurpashchim has made it to the last four by defeating State 2.
Batting first after losing the toss at Fapla in Dhangadhi, Sudurpaschim lost 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs and scored 143 runs. But in reply, State 2 managed to add only 56 runs and Sudurpashchim won by a wide margin of 87 runs.
Bindu Rawal played a half-century innings of 50 runs to take Sudurpashchim to a higher score. She hit 4 fours in 45 balls. Similarly, Rubi Poddar scored 21, Kabita Joshi 13, Shobha Rokaya, Sangita Mauni 13 and Dolly Bhatta 15 runs. Bimala Magar of State 2 took 2 wickets, Anuradha Chaudhary and Sana Parveen took 1 wicket each.
Following the winning target of 144 runs, State 2 lost 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs and scored only 56 runs. Apart from Sana Parveen (14) and Bimala Magar (12), no other player was able to score a double run. Spinners Laxmi Saud and Kabita Joshi took 2-2 wickets for Sudurpashchim.
State 1 is the winner from Group A and Lumbini is the runner-up in the competition. Nepal APF Club has already reached the semi-finals from Group B while Sudurpashchim has made it to the next team.
