Tallying votes for central members reached final stage
KATHMANDU: DEC. 23 – The 14th general convention of the Nepali Congress has reached the last stage of tallying votes for central members. The Election Committee expects that the counting will be done by this evening.
The Adivasi Janajati open and women, as well as the Khas Arya open and women, have yet to be counted as central members. The committee also noted that the vote-counting did not take place at night and began after 10 a.m. this moning.
A total of 2200 votes have been tallied for the eight Adivasi Janajati posts, with Chin Kaji Shrestha leading the way with 1115 votes.
Similarly, Umesh Shrestha is second with 1030 votes and Tek Bahadur Gurung is third with 980 votes. Bahadur Singh Lama is fourth, Dilman Pakhrin is fifth, Taraman Gurung is sixth, Angelu Sherpa is seventh and Tek Prasad Gurung is eighth.
Indigenous will have eight open candidates and seven women.
