NC State 2 election to be held today
KATHMANDU: DEC. 23 – Voting for the leadership of Nepali Congress State 2 will be held today morning. Though the election committee is preparing to hold the election today, the polling will start at 8 am today after the President Sher Bahadur faction demanded to cast the vote this morning.
On Wednesday, Deuba and leader Bimalendra Nidhi had a dispute over the voting. Tensions were high as voting did not begin until late. Nidhi’s faction had chanted slogans saying that voting should be done on Wednesday, while President Deuba’s faction had protested against it. Due to this a situation of clash has arisen.
Ram Saroj Yadav from the Nidhi faction and Krishna Yadav from the Deuba faction are vying for the post of state president. Ram Saroj has also been supported by Shekhar Koirala’s faction. Though Nidhi supported Deuba in the General Convention, Shekhar Koirala’s faction has supported Nidhi in the state.
