Voter list compilation with photographs is now underway [Photos]

KATHMANDU: DEC. 22 – The Election Commission has started the work of making voter identity cards with photos targeting the upcoming election. The commission has started the work from all 77 district election offices and 753 local levels of the country.

According to the commission, anyone who has Nepali citizenship will be able to take a photo now. However, the Commission has stated that the voter identity card will be available only after reaching the age of 18 on the day of the election announcement. A team has been deployed at the local level to collect names with photos from the 1st of Push.

As of Monday, 431,314 voters have been added across the country. The commission estimates that 20 percent of new voters will be added this year.
