SAARC Law Nepal demands resignation of Chief Justice
KATHMANDU: DEC. 21 – SAARC Law Nepal has demanded the resignation of CJ Rana. Nepal has issued a statement demanding the resignation of Chief Justice Rana. “The immediate departure of Chief Justice CJ Rana to resolve this current difficult scenario is an absolute necessity for the independence, integrity, and impartiality of the judiciary as a whole,” the statement added.
The SAARC Law Nepal is an organization of judges, legal practitioners and legal scholars from SAARC nations, chaired by Supreme Court Judge Sapna Malla Pradhan himself. Judges Anil Kumar Sinha and Hari Phunyal are also members.
The SAARC Law Nepal has also urged the Parliament, political parties, and stakeholders to fulfill their constitutional obligations in order for CJ Rana to resign. The former Chief Justice Forum has also requested that CJ Rana resign from the Nepal Bar Association.
