Counting of votes of five Joint General Secretaries today

KATHMANDU: DEC. 17 – The counting of votes for five of the eight Joint General Secretary posts under the 14th general convention of the Nepali Congress is taking place today. The results of the post of Joint General Secretary of Women, Dalit and Adivasi Janajati clusters have been announced on Thursday night.

According to the Congress Central Election Committee, the counting of votes for the Joint General Secretaries of Madhesi, Khas Arya, Tharu, Muslim and backward constituency groups is underway. Mahendra Yadav from the Sher Bahadur Deuba panel, Ram Krishna Yadav from the Shekhar Koirala panel and Ram Krishna Yadav from the Bimalendra Nidhi panel are vying for the post of Joint General Secretary of the Madhesi group.

Kishor Singh Rathore from the Deuba panel, Devraj Chalise from the Koirala panel are the Joint General Secretaries of Khas Arya group, while Uma Kanta Chaudhary from the Deuba panel and Tejulal Chaudhary from Koirala panel are candidates in Tharu cluster.

Farmullah Mansur from Deuba panel as Joint General Secretary of Muslim cluster and Sheikh Wakil is the candidate from Koirala and Nidhi’s panel. Jeevan Bahadur Shahi from the Deuba panel, Badri Pandey from the Koirala panel and Chetraj Baral from the Nidhi panel are the candidates for the post of Joint General Secretary of backward constituency cluster.
