Jeevan Pariyar from Koirala faction elected NC Joint General Secretary

KATHMANDU: DEC. 17 – Jeevan Pariyar has been elected as the joint general minister of the Nepali Congress. Pariyar has won in the counting of votes held on Thursday under the 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress.

Similarly, Man Bahadur Bishwokarma and Ganga Sunar, the other candidates from the Dalit side, have been defeated. Jeevan was elected after defeating Man Bahadur Bishwokarma by 37 votes.

Jeevan, who became the candidate of Shekhar Koirala’s panel, got 2213 votes while Man Bahadur, who became the candidate from the panel of President Sher Bahadur Deuba, got only 2175 votes. Similarly, Ganga Sunar has 229 votes.
