Announcement of state committee was made without the presence of any office bearers
DHANGADHI: DEC. 15 – The first conference of the CPN (Maoist Center) in the Far Western Stae has ended. The four-day conference announced a 223-member state committee without office bearers.
Khagraj Bhatta, Far-Western in-charge of the UCPN (M) said that the state conference has now announced the state committee without any office bearers.
He said that the office-bearers would be selected from the first meeting.
The two-day conference was extended to the fourth day due to a lack of consensus among the office bearers including the state chairperson. However, the state committee has been declared without office bearers for four days.
Six people have been claiming for the post of state chairperson. Central Member Sharad Singh Bhandari, State Deputy In-Charge and Central Members Birman Chaudhary, Nep Bahadur Chaudhary, Central Member and Baitadi District In-Charge Narendra Kunwar, Hari Chaudhary, a member of the National Assembly who is also a member of the UCPN (M) Far West State Committee, Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment Man Bahadur Dhami and State Committee member Hari Gyawali has been claiming for the chairmanship.
It is said that the possibility of Hari Chaudhary as the chairperson is strong. According to him, nine office bearers including a chairperson, three vice-chairpersons, a secretary, three joint secretaries and a treasurer will be selected from the first meeting. The conference has also selected the delegates of the national conference through the state conference.
