Gagan’s congratulations to Deuba, request to emphasize position and method

KATHMANDU: DEC. 15 – Nepali Congress leader and General Secretary candidate Gagan Kumar Thapa has congratulated the newly elected party President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Congratulating Deuba on social media, Thapa said that it would cooperate in the campaign for a prosperous Nepal and party transformation. He has also expressed the expectation of starting the tradition of running the party in a position and manner by Deuba.

Thapa wrote, “Respected Sher Bahadur Deuba, congratulations on being re-elected as the President. I hope that you will start the tradition of running the party in a position and manner by assimilating the expectation of unity of the general Congressmen. We will work together on the issues of prosperous Nepal and party transformation. ‘

Prime Minister Deuba defeated Congress candidate for the 14th general convention Shekhar Koirala by 878 votes in the second phase of the election and became the President for the second time.

There are candidates for the general secretary from the Thapa Koirala panel in the election. Apart from the President, counting of votes of other office bearers and central members has not started yet.
