Counting of votes of office bearers and central members starting
KATHMANDU: DEC. 15 – The counting of votes of office bearers and central members starting from today in the voting held under the Nepali Congress General Convention. As the result of the president has come, the counting of other office bearers and central members will start now.
Earlier, the counting of votes ended this morning, Sher Bahadur Deuba, who is currently the Prime Minister for the fifth time, was elected for a second term. Deuba got 2724 votes out of a total of 4623 votes
According to Congress Central Election Committee Coordinator Gopal Krishna Ghimire, ballot boxes of other office bearers have been kept at the party office, Sanepa. He informed that the results of all the polls would be declared by Dec. 20. The general convention has started on Dec. 10.
A total of 4,679 votes out of a total of 4,743 were cast in Monday’s polls. From the 14th General Convention, 2 office bearers including the chairperson, 2 general secretaries, 13 office bearers including 8 joint general secretaries and 121 members will be elected.
