KATHMANDU: DEC. 14 – Laxmi Bank has joined Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF).

PCAF is a collaboration between financial institutions around the world to assist in the assessment and information of greenhouse gas emissions.

The Science-Based Target Initiative has also recognized PCAF’s method as a global method of evaluating the greenhouse gas emissions of financial products.

The Bank claims that joining PCAF and moving towards a net-zero future will also help Nepal’s national commitment to COP-26 and reduce environmental impact through responsible business operations.

“We believe that the measurement and reporting of financial emissions from our business will help guide our risk assessment and climate strategy,” said Ajay Shah, chief executive officer of the bank. Therefore, we are committed to doing concrete and meaningful work to promote conservation for our future generations. “
