Following Prachanda’s announcement, shareholders gathered at Madhav’s residence
KATHMANDU: DEC. 13 – Officials of the Nepal Capital Market Investors Association have met Madhav Kumar Nepal, Chairperson of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Socialist).
Officials have reached the private residence ( Koteshwor-based) of Chairperson Nepal to urge him to take appropriate steps in view of the declining share market.
The anti-share market statement made by the Chairperson of the ruling coalition party Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda on Saturday has been widely criticized as irresponsible.
Chairperson Prachanda had recently claimed that investing in the capital market instead of investing in industry and manufacturing was a developed form of imperialism. The stock market has been declining since yesterday after he made such a statement.
During the meeting, President Nepal said that he was serious about the market and would try to solve the problems faced by the investors, said Radha Pokharel, President of the Association.
