Congress General Convention: Process of withdrawing nominations has started
KATHMANDU: DEC. 12 – The process of withdrawing nomination papers has started today under the 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress. According to the party’s Central Election Committee, the deadline for candidates to withdraw their nomination papers is today (Dec. 12) at 11 am. Similarly, the final list of candidates will be published today at 12:15 pm and polling will be held on Dec. 13 at 8 am.
Earlier, nomination registration was held on Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm. The committee had published the first list of candidates on Dec. 11 from 9 pm to 12 pm after protesting and scrutinizing the candidature nomination registration from 5 to 7 pm on Saturday and deciding on the protest from 7 pm to 9 pm.
There are 39 candidates including 6 presidents in the general convention. The same number of nomination papers was registered for the office bearers in the nomination registration for the selection of the new working committee. The nomination period was from 10 am to 5 pm.
