Cold all over the country including valley, urged to remain vigilant

KATHMANDU: DEC. 12 – For the last time, it has been getting cold all over the country including Kathmandu Valley. The weather forecast department has informed that it will be cold in the morning and evening even though it is sunny in the afternoon in the valley.

According to the department, the minimum temperature in the last 24 hours has dropped to 5.4 degrees Celsius and the maximum to 19.8 degrees. The temperature has started falling especially at night and in the morning, the department said. Jumla has a temperature of minus 4.7 degrees. The maximum temperature is 15.9 degrees.

The temperature has also fallen in the Terai. Fog has started to appear in the Terai districts. The minimum temperature in Nepalgunj has dropped to 10.3 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature is 24 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature in Biratnagar was recorded at 11.5 and the maximum at 25.3.

“As the temperature is falling across the country, it is requested to take necessary safety and precaution to avoid the cold and also to get the latest weather bulletins and information,” the department said.

The weather is generally clear in other parts of the country with partly cloudy weather in the hilly terrain on Sunday morning. In the afternoon, there will be partial to normal cloud cover in Gandaki and State 1 and there will be partial cloud cover in the rest of the country. On Monday, there will be partly to normal cloud cover in Far West, Karnali, Lumbini and Gandaki. There is a possibility of light snowfall in a few places in the high hills and mountains of these states.
