Deuba arrived late at night at Poudel’s residence to meet with him
KATHMANDU: DEC. 12 – Nepali Congress President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has met senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel. Deuba, who had registered his candidature for the post of president at the 14th General Convention, reached Poudel’s residence in Bohratar on Saturday night.
During the meeting, Deuba urged the people not to talk about getting out of politics as they are needed for the nation. Deuba also urged them to take care of their health.
In response, Poudel said that he was out of the process as it was seen that there would be unhealthy competition in the General Convention. “I have walked out of the convention because of the unhealthy competition in the convention against my principles and ideals,” he said.
Poudel is not a candidate for president in the ongoing general convention. Poudel did not contest as Prakash Man Singh and Shekhar Koirala did not withdraw from the race. From the establishment side, Deuba has given his candidature for the post of president this time as well.
