Candidacy of 6 leaders for the post of NC President
KATHMANDU: DEC. 11 – Six leaders have registered their candidacies for the post of Nepali Congress President. Leaders Sher Bahadur Deuba, Bimalendra Nidhi, Prakash Man Singh, Dr. Shekhar Koirala, Kalyan Gurung and Yuvaraj Neupane have registered their candidacies for the post of presidency.
The Central Election Committee (CEC) of the Nepali Congress (NC) had set a deadline of 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday. Deuba, Nidhi, Singh, Koirala, Gurung and Neupane have registered their candidacies for the post of presidency.
Similarly, seven candidates have registered for the post of vice-president. Purna Bahadur Khadka, Mahesh Acharya, Sujata Koirala, Chandra Bhandari, Dhanraj Gurung, Bijay Gachchhadar and Divyashree Sah have registered their candidacies for the post of vice-president.
According to the Election Committee, Minendra Prasad Rijal, Gagan Kumar Thapa, Bishwa Prakash Sharma, Prakash Sharan Mahat, Rajaram Karki and Pradip Poudel have registered their candidacies for the post of General Secretary. Similarly, 20 leaders have been nominated for the post of Joint General Minister.
Man Bahadur Bishwakarma, Badri Pandey, Farmulha Mansur, Surendra Prasad Chaudhary, Devraj Chalise, Ranjit Karna, Ramkrishna Yadav, Kamala Panta, Tejulal Chaudhary, Kishor Singh Rathore, Bikash Lama, Jeevan Pariyar, Ganga Sunar, Mahendra Yadav, Bhishma Raj Andangbe, Jeevan Bahadur Shahi, Chetraj Bajal, Sheikh Wakil, Umakanta Chaudhary and Dina Upadhyay has registered for the post of Joint General Minister.
The Election Commission has stated that the time for withdrawal of candidature has been fixed till 11 am on Sunday. Similar elections will be held on Monday.
