Manang remains undefeated, climbed to the top
KATHMANDU: DEC. 10 – Manang Marshyangdi Club has continued its unbeaten run in the Martyrs’ Memorial A Division Football League. In the fourth round, Manang climbed to the top spot by defeating Friends Club 2-0 in a match played at Dasharath Stadium on Friday. Friends Club’s winless journey continued. This is the second defeat of Friends in the competition.
Manang took the lead in the 41st minute. Afeez Olawale scored a header from the pass given by Anjan Bista. In the 73rd minute, Dinesh Rajbanshi scored a header from Pujan Uparkoti’s free-kick.
Before that, Manang controlled the game most of the time in the first half and second half. Saroj Yonjan saved a free-kick inside the box in the eighth minute. Even after that, Manang had very good strikes.
Manang kept up the pressure in the second half as well. Afeez Olawale missed a good chance to score in the 60th minute. Adelaide Somide’s shot in the 81st minute was also unsuccessful.
