Water supply projects of around Rs 4 billion constructed in Bharatpur Metropolitian

CHITWAN: DEC. 10 – Twenty-three big water supply projects including the newly constructed ones and those expanded and repaired have come online within Bharatpur Metropolitan City after the people’s representatives took office.

With this the local people have got access to potable water in the Metropolitian which also comprises of hilly areas. Kabilas area of the metropolis which was the hardest hit due to water shortage has greatly benefited.

Mayor Renu Dahal said that the 23 projects have been either newly constructed or expanded or repaired at a cost of Rs 3.77 billion. This amount was mobilized with the support of the federal government, the Bagmati state government, the Water Supply Board and the local bodies.

According to her, the Sharadanagar Water Supply Project was completed at an investment of Rs 590 million, the Jakhadimai project at a cost of Rs 328 million, the Dhangadha project at an investment of Rs 288 million, the Patihani Town project at a cost of Rs 252.5 million, the Divyanagar project at a cost of Rs 241.5 million and the Shivanagar project at an investment of Rs 232.5 million.

Similarly, the Bharatpur Water Supply Project was repaired at a cost of Rs 55.8 million and expanded with an investment of Rs 113.5 million, the Kailsahnagar-Phulbari project was completed at a cost of Rs 80.05 million, the Anandapur water supply project was completed at a cost of Rs 66.5 million, the Patihani project at a cost of Rs 53.5 million, the Mangalpur water supply project at a cost of Rs 67.6 million, the Gitanagar project at a cost of Rs 42.7 million, the Parbatipur project at a cost of Rs 22.05 million and the Devnagar project at a cost of Rs 50.5 million.

Likewise, the Meghauli Small Urban Water Supply Project has been completed at Rs 170.2 million, the Shukranagar project at Rs 187.5 million, the Jagatpur project at Rs 210.5 million, the Golaghat project at Rs 147.5 million, the Bharatpur water supply expansion project at Ward no 29 of the metropolis at Rs 100.2 million, the Gunjanagar water supply project at Rs 163.5 million, the Bijayanagar water supply project at Rs 80.3 million and the project at Bharatpur metropolis-1 at Rs 10 million.
