KATHMANDU: DEC. 9 – Gagan Kumar Thapa, the candidate for the post of General Secretary of the upcoming 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress, has put forward the concept of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Respected Nepali’. Thapa unveiled the concept paper in Kathmandu on Thursday.

Earlier, UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli had brought the slogan of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’. Challenging that, Thapa has made public the concept of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Respected Nepali’.

Thapa has even said that there is a big difference between these two slogans. “Look at the content of the speech delivered by the visionary of a prosperous Nepal,” Thapa said. ‘Ships, wide roads, watchtowers, small trains, but there is no one to sit on the train. There is a view tower, but people can’t be seen from the tower.’

He said that prosperous Nepal was not a destination but a continuous journey and determination.

He said that if the discrimination on the basis of race, caste and gender decreases in the future, it can be said that the country is moving towards prosperity.
