KATHMANDU: DEC. 9 – The Nepali Congress has resolved not to appoint any new officers. According to Bishwa Prakash Sharma, the proposal was not included in the Central Committee meeting since it was said that additional office-bearers will be added earlier.

According to him, the central committee will be formed only as provided by the legislature. Senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel’s party was preparing to protest saying that president and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba was preparing to add two joint general ministers.

However, spokesperson Sharma said that the proposal was not tabled at the meeting. According to the constitution, Congress has one president, two vice presidents, two general secretaries and eight joint general secretaries.
