Poudel’s proposal to Sitaula to cooperate
KATHMANDU: DEC. 8 – The other side of the Nepali Congress has proposed cooperation to former general secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula. Sitaula, who met President Sher Bahadur Deuba at the district and state conventions, was formally offered cooperation by the non-establishment party at the general convention. Senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel himself had reached Sitaula’s residence with the proposal.
According to sources, Poudel had asked Sitaula why he was standing in favor of Deuba in the General Convention as they have been living together in favor of changing the leadership in Congress. Poudel reminded that they were ideologically united yesterday and concluded that there was no alternative to change of leadership to transform the party.
In response, Sitaula said that the proposal for cooperation was good, adding that it would be important to know how the basis for it could be prepared, adding that it could be decided after further discussions.
Both Poudel and Sitaula have agreed to hold further discussions. Poudel meets Sitaula at his home during a meeting of his party leaders and offers to cooperate.
