Sah elected as regional president of NC Sarlahi Constituency 4
KATHMANDU: DEC. 8 – Ram Ashray Sah has been elected as the regional president of Nepali Congress Sarlahi Constituency No. 4. Sah defeated Harendra Sahani in the counting of votes held this morning.
While Sah of the Deuba faction got 517 votes, Sahani of the non-establishment faction got 227 votes. Deuba’s candidate has also won in the regional working committee and general convention representative. Federal MP from Constituency No. 4 Amresh Kumar Singh, who contested the election by forming a panel, was defeated in the General Convention.
In the convention, there was fierce competition between the federal MP Singh and the establishment MP Birendra Prasad Singh. MP Amresh Kumar Singh got 248 votes while state MP Birendra Singh got 514 votes.
The panel was defeated from Constituency No. 4, the other side of the establishment. Counting is underway in Constituency No. 1 in Sarlahi, which has four constituencies, while the election process has just started in Constituencies No. 2 and 3. Counting is underway in Bayalbas of Constituency No. 1. Kuber Acharya from the establishment and Hari Lungeli from other parties are the candidates for the post.
The convention process is underway in Barahathawa of Constituency No. 3. Punya Prasad Ghimire of the establishment party and Bhikari Roy of the other party have given their candidacies for the post of regional president.
